Liverpool win again but City closing in....
Liverpool remain top of the table after another 6 goal thriller with Newcastle at Anfield. Mo Salah was the star for Liverpool, but the Reds will need to find a way to win without him for the next few weeks, as he heads off to the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.
Manchester City are now Liverpool's biggest threat for the title, as the blues recorded an easy 2 - 0 victory over Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium. City are five points behind the Reds, but with a game in hand.
Arsenal's title charge suffered another significant setback, with a 2 - 1 defeat away at Fulham. Despite taking the lead, Arsenal never looked like they had control of the game, with Fulham out running and out fighting the Gunners, to condemn them to back to back defeats.
That result left the door open for Tottenham and Aston Villa to move up the table, with both teams recording victories. Villa are now second, level on point with City, whilst Tottenham move up to fifth, just 1 point behind Arsenal.
Manchester United had another wekeend to forget, as Nottingham Forest condemned them to their ninth defeat of the season. United are now eighth in the table, nine points off a Champions League spot.
