Liverpool look to put pressure on City and Arsenal
Liverpool get this weekend's action underway, with a tricky away match at Brentford. Despite struggling for most of the season, Brentford have been boosted by the recent return of Ivan Toney, and Liverpool will need a good performance to come away with all three points. Saturday lunchtime kick-offs are not popular with Jurgen Klopp, and Liverpool are often sluggish in these early games, but with City not playing until later in the day, a win would put Liverpool five points clear, with the pressure back on City to get a result against Chelsea.
The City vs Chelsea game kicks-off at 5.30pm on Saturday. Although Chelsea have been a mixed bag this season, they do have players that can win matches, and with City having played in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, there may be the chance of an upset. Although I don't want Chelsea to build any sort of momentum going into the Carabao Cup Final next Sunday, if they could sneak a draw against City, it would certainly boost Liverpool's title chances.
In between the Liverpool and City games, Arsenal travel to Burnley. The Reds struggled against an organised and resilient Burnley side last weekend, so I don't see Arsenal winning 6 - 0 like they did against West Ham, but I think the Gunners will be too strong for the Clarets.
Elsewhere, Tottenham entertain Wolves, as they look to keep pace with the top three, and Aston Villa faces a difficult away trip to Fulham. Villa need a good result to re-ignite their season, after a series of poor results.
