Top teams all hitting form...

Manchester City kicked off the weekend with a 2 - 0 victory over Everton at the Etihad Stadium.  The Toffee's frustrated City for large parts of the game, and it took until the 71st minute for City to score.  Once they were ahead, however, they never looked like conceding, with Everon offering little in attack.  The result briefly took City to the top of the table, until Liverpool played later on Saturday.

Cities win meant Liverpool needed a victory against Burnley at Anfield, which the Reds duly delivered.  They didn't have it all their own way, however, and needed second-half goals from Diaz and Nunez to ensure victory.

With City and Liverpool winning on Saturday, the pressure was on Arsenal, in what should have been a difficult away game at West Ham.  The Gunners made short work of the Hammers, however, scoring four goals in the first half, before eventually winning six-nil.

Tottenham also remain in the hunt, after scoring a late winner against Brighton, whilst Manchester United scored late on against Aston Villa, to keep their European hopes alive.

At the bottom, Sheffield United produced an excellent performance, to beat fellow strugglers Luton Town, 3 - 1, away.  Sheffield are still a long way from safety, but at least they have given themselves a chance.
