Liverpool and Arsenal stalemate...

Liverpool missed the chance to go top of the table, and claim the Xmas bragging rights, by being held to a one-all draw with Arsenal at Anfield.  Despite Arsenal taking an early lead through Gabriel, it was Liverpool who missed the better chances, including a four-on-one breakaway that saw Alexander-Arnold hit the crossbar when it seemed certain he would score.  Liverpool would rue that missed chance, with the Reds having to settle for a point, and second in the table, at Christmas.

Aston Villa also dropped points, after suffering a disappointing a one-all draw at home to struggling Sheffield United.  The result could have been much worse for Villa, who needed a 95th minute equaliser to salvage a point.

Manchester United's season goes from bad to worse, as the Red Devils were easily beaten 2 - 0 by West Ham.  The only disappointing aspect of the result, is it raises the question, how did we not beat them at Anfield last week?
