Salah moves up all-time goal scorers list

Liverpool striker Mohamad Salah kept up his incredible goal scoring record, with another goal against Fulham during the opening weekend of the season.  In the process Salah continued a remarkable run, which has seen him score in the opening fixture of every single season he has been an LFC player.  You can read more about that record in our article here.

As well as continuing his opening day run, Salah's goal saw him hit another milestone, with the Egyptian now sitting on 158 total goals for LFC, level with Michael Owen in joint 8th place on LFC's all-time goalscoring chart.  Such is Salah's talent and with so many games coming thick and fast in this new season, it won't take very long for Salah to get the goal he needs to move ahead of Owen on the list.  Read on below to see a breakdown of Salah's goals and where he sits on the all-time list.

Premier League Performer!

Since joining the Reds from Roma in 2017, for what now seems a bargain £34million, Salah has scored an incredible 119 league goals in just 181 league appearances.  He has also scored another 39 goals in other competitions, mostly in the Champions League, giving Salah a total of 158 goals in 256 appearances.  That means on average Salah has scored a goal every 1.62 games for LFC!  In comparison, Ian Rush, who sits at the top of the LFC all-time goal scorers list scored on average every 1.9 games.  During his LFC career, Rush played 660 games, and scored an incredible 346 goals.  Whilst it is unlikely that Salah will match those figures, it highlights what an amazing performer Salah is for LFC and how lucky we are to watch him play week in, week out.

After Michael Owen, Salah will be targeting Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, who scored 172 goals in 515 appearances.
