Liverpool vs West Ham preview: Carabao Cup team news, TV channel

Wednesday night's game will be new boss Arne Slot's first taste of cup football in England, as the Reds look to build on their impressive start to the new campaign. Read on below for all the essential information you need to enjoy the big game.
Liverpool welcomes West Ham to Anfield on Wednesday, as the Reds begin their quest for a record 11th Carabao Cup (League Cup) triumph. Last time the teams met
Liverpool met West Ham in the same competition last season, with the Reds winning 5 - 1 at Anfield. In the league, the teams last met back in April, at the end of last season, when a 2 - 2 draw all but ended the Reds title challenge.
Team News
Liverpool:
It will be interesting to see how Arne Slot treats the Carabao Cup, as while it is not as important as the Premier League or Champions League, a good cup run can help with team spirit, as well as winning over the fans. In recent seasons Liverpool have enjoyed plenty of success in this and the FA Cup, so it would be a shame to lose that momentum.
In terms of team selection, Slot has no new injuries after the weekend game with Bournemouth, but I expect he will rotate some of his players, to give those on the fringes of the first team a chance to impress.
Alisson and Harvey Elliott remain the only injured senior players.
West Ham:
The Hammers travel to Anfield on the back of another poor result against Chelsea at the weekend, with pressure already building on new boss Julen Lupotegui after a bad start to the season. Lupotegui does have a nearly fully fit squad to choose from, with only new striker Niclas Fullkrug missing through injury. Despite this, I expect he will make changes from the team that started at the weekend, as he looks to turn the Hammers season around.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup
Arne Slot will stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, though I expect to see plenty of changes to the starting XI
Kelleher, Bradley, Van Dijk (C), Quansah, Tsimikas, Endo, Jones, Nunez, Gakpo, Salah, Jota
Liverpool Score Prediction
Liverpool should have plenty of firepower to overcome West Ham, especially given how poorly the Hammers have been playing recently. If the Reds can avoid the same sort of complacency that cost them against Nottingham Forest last week, they should run out comfortable winners, and a repeat of last year's 5 - 1 scoreline is not out of the question.
Liverpool to win 4 - 1
