Everton vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup

Everton vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup

Jurgen Klopp will take charge of the Reds for his final Merseyside Derby on Wednesday, with Liverpool looking for another three points to sustain their title push, and the bragging rights for the final time this season.

Liverpool makes the short trip across Stanley Park on Wednesday evening for Jurgen Klopp's final Merseyside Derby as Liverpool manager.

Thanks to their excellent victory over Fulham last Sunday, Liverpool are back in the title race and could move four points clear of Manchester City with victory over Everton (although City would have two games in hand).  For their part, Everton are still looking over their shoulder at the relegation battle, although their recent 2 - 0 victory over Nottingham Forest means they are now 5 points clear of the drop zone.

Jurgen Klopp has a strong squad to choose from, although his options have been reduced somewhat with the sad news that Diogo Jota has picked up another injury, which will rule the Portuguese striker out for at least 2 weeks.  With Jota likely to have kept his place in the starting lineup, Klopp must now decide who starts in attack on Wednesday.  Mo Salah will likely be recalled, while Cody Gakpo has been our best player in the last couple of games, so Klopp must choose between Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, with Diaz most likely to get the nod.

Elsewhere, I think Klopp will recall Alexis Mac Allister to the midfield, alongside Endo and Gravenberch, who also keep their places from Sunday.  That means Elliott drops to the bench, with Quansah, also keeping his place after another excellent performance.  In fairness, Elliott played well at the weekend, but Klopp will want to play Mac Allister at Goodison Park, so someone has to be dropped.

Whatever team Klopp picks, he will once again have a strong bench to call upon, with Nunez, Elliott, Jones, and Szoboszlai all available if needed.

Predicted Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk (C), Quansah, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Diaz, Gakpo, Salah

Predicted Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Konate, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Danns, Diaz, Clark

Injuries and Suspensions

There are currently four players unavailable to Klopp due to injury and suspension, including:

Conor Bradley (ankle), Thiago (back), Joel Matip (ACL), and Ben Doak (hamstring)
