Fulham vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup
Jurgen Klopp and his players go into Thursday's second leg against Atalanta as clear underdogs, but also knowing they can write one more piece of history if they can overturn their first leg deficit to reach the Semi-Finals.
Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Sunday, as they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham, in a game the Reds simply cannot afford to lose.
Having seen his side crash out of Europe and lose top spot in the Premier League over the last 2 weeks, Jurgen Klopp must find a way to galvanise his players ahead of a difficult game on Sunday. Liverpool has already played Fulham three times this season, securing a narrow 4 - 3 victory at Anfield in December, and defeating Marco Silva's side over two legs in the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals, so Klopp will be well aware of the threat Fulham will pose to his team.
Thankfully the Reds did not pick up any new injury concerns in midweek, so Klopp has a strong squad of players to pick from, though I don't expect too many changes from Thursday's game.
That means Alisson continues in goal, with the back four consisting of Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, and Robertson. I would love to see Alexander-Arnold play at right-back, but I think he may need a rest after his 65 minutes on Thursday, and Klopp will not want to risk any further injury to his star player. In midfield, Wataru Endo will return to provide extra protection, while Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones should continue. Klopp has another big decision to make up front, with Diogo Jota pushing for a first start in several months, though I think Klopp will stick with Diaz, Gakpo, and Salah, and save Jota and Nunez for the second half if needed.
Klopp will once again have a strong bench to call upon, with the likes of Jota, Nunez, Elliott, Gravenberch, and Szoboszlai all available.
Predicted Starting XI: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk (C), Konate, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Jones, Diaz, Salah, Gakpo
Predicted Subs: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Jota, Clark
Injuries and Suspensions
There are currently three players unavailable to Klopp due to injury and suspension, including:
Thiago (back), Joel Matip (ACL), and Ben Doak (hamstring)
