Team News
Liverpool:
Liverpool still have a lengthy injury list, with Joel Matip, Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak many weeks away from returning. Goalkeeper Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, and Curtis Jones should be back in training shortly, but will not make the game this weekend. Defender Ibrahima Konate should be available after a recent injury scare, as will Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz. However, left-back Andy Robertson suffered another injury while on international duty this week and is a major doubt for the game.
Brighton & Hove Albion:
Brighton heads into the game with their own injury problems, with as many as seven players unavailable for the trip to Anfield. Jack Hinshelwood, Solly March, and Kaoru Mitoma are out, while Joao Pedro is rated at 50/50. Former Reds Adam Lallana and James Milner are also doubtful, with Milner unlikely to make the trip. Finally, defender Adam Webster could be fit but has struggled for form and fitness in recent months.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup
Jurgen Klopp will stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation.
Kelleher, Bradley, Van Dijk (C), Konate, Tsimikas, Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Nunez, Salah,
Caoimhin Kelleher will continue in goal with Alisson still absent. With Robertson injured, Tsimikas should start at left-back, to add more attacking threat down that flank, forming a back four with Bradley, Van Dijk (C), and Konate. In midfield, Endo will protect the defence, with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai both given license to roam and support an attack of Diaz, Nunez, and Salah.
If Konate fails to recover, then Klopp has either Gomez or Quansah to partner Van Dijk, with Gomez likely to get the nod.
LFC - Back On Our Perch Score Prediction
Liverpool knows a win will see them back on top of the table, and add extra pressure on City and Arsenal ahead of their showdown later on Sunday. Brighton has been a difficult opponent for us in recent seasons, and I expect a tough match, but the Reds will be too strong for the south coast side, and I can see us scoring a few goals.
Liverpool to win 3 - 1
