Anfield will play host to another charity match later this month, and the full 18-man squad has now been confirmed, with big names such as Torres, Hyypia, and Kuyt all returning to Anfield for one final match.
The match - which takes place on Saturday 23rd of March 2024, will be especially poignant, as lifelong Liverpool fan (and former England Manager), Sven-Goran Eriksson will be taking his place in the dugout, alongside Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush, after the veteran coach announced he has terminal cancer earlier this year. The match will see Eriksson achieve a lifelong dream of leading Liverpool out at Anfield, a feat which he did not manage during his managerial career.
Earlier today, the Official Liverpool FC website confirmed the final members of the 18-man Liverpool squad, which includes players from our 2005 Champions League winning team, as well as iconic heroes such as Fernando Torres and Igor Biscan.
Tickets are selling out fast, with over 54,000 sold already. That means only 6,000 tickets remain. To book yours, click here to visit the Official online ticket office.
Liverpool Legends Confirmed Squad List
Goalkeepers: Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld
Defenders: Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Daniel Agger, Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vignal, Igor Biscan, Martin Skrtel, Sami Hyypia
Midfielders: Jay Spearing, Mark Gonzalez, Maxi Rodriguez, Momo Sissoko
Forwards: Dirk Kuyt, Djibril Cisse, Fernando Torres, Nabil El Zhar, Ryan Babel
Liverpool will play 2 teams, one in each half so that all members of the squad get plenty of game time. If past years are anything to go by, expect to also see 'managers' Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush take to the field as well.
