Team News
Liverpool:
The Reds are in the middle of a full-blown injury crisis, with at least nine first-team players unavailable for the game.
Goalkeeper Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, and Curtis Jones are just some of the players missing, whilst Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Dominik Szoboszlai will undergo late fitness tests.
Caoimhin Kelleher will start in goal, whilst Conor Bradley will play at right-back, but there will be difficult decisions to make in midfield and up-front.
Chelsea:
Chelsea also have injury problems, with Captain Reece James ruled out, as well as Romeo Lavia, Marc Cucerella, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badioshile, and Wesley Fofana.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup
Jurgen Klopp will stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation.
Kelleher, Bradley, Van Dijk (C), Konate, Robertson, Endo, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Elliott, Gakpo, Diaz
The big caveat to that lineup is whether Salah, Nunez, and Szoboszlai are fit enough to start. If they are, then Salah or Nunez should start up front in place of Elliott, whilst Szoboszlai would replace Gravenberch in midfield. More likely, however, is that Salah, Nunez, and Szoboszlai start on the bench, ready to come on if needed.
LFC - Back On Our Perch Score Prediction
Liverpool have their injury problems, but Klopp and his players just know how to win football matches, like they did on Wednesday against Luton. Chelsea will pose more problems than Luton, but I think Liverpool's defense is better than Chelsea's, and there aren't many teams that can stop us from scoring. Unlike past finals between the two teams, I expect this game to be much more open, and to be decided in 90 minutes, not on penalties.
Liverpool to win 3 - 1.
