Which countries are competing in the African Cup of Nations

With the African Cup of Nations less that a week away, LFC - Back On Our Perch takes a look at which countries will be competing with Egypt to win the title.

Mo Salah has joined up with his Egyptian teammates, at their training camp in the Egyptian capital, ahead of the start of the 2024 African Cup of Nations.  Salah and Co. will play one final warm up game against Tanzania, on 7th January 2024, before heading off to the Ivory Coast, where they will be based in Abidjan.

Egypt have not won the tournament since 2010, but go in as one of the favourites, mainly due to the brilliance of Salah.

But who else is competing in the tournament, and who are the favourites alongside Egypt?

Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coat, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia.
