Mohamad Salah continues to write his name into the history books, both for Liverpool, and football in general.

Salah's goal against Crystal Palace at the weekend not only got Liverpool back into the game, it was also his 150th goal in the Premier League.  By reaching the landmark, Salah joins a list of 10 other players who have acheived the same feat.

It was also Salah's 200th goal for Liverpool, but he still has to wait a bit longer to score 150 Premier League goals for Liverpool, as his first 2 goals in the league were scored for Chelsea, back in the 2013/14 season.

It has taken Salah just 247 games to reach the landmark, at a rate of a goal every 1.6 games.  This is the fifth fewest number of games to reach 150 goals

Other players to reach the milestone are : Alan Shearer, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Thierry Henry, Andy Cole, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler, Jermain Defoe and Frank Lampard.

Salah goals by type

Penalties - 23
Left-footed - 120
Right-footed - 22
Headed - 8
Outside the box - 9
Inside the box - 141
Open-play goals - 111

How high can Salah go...?

Alan Shearer sits atop the list of all-time Premier League goals, with a whopping 260 goals, 110 goals more than Salah currently has.   But how many more goals can Salah score in his PL career, and how high up the list will he finish?

  1. Alan Shearer - 260 goals
  2. Harry Kane - 213 goals
  3. Wayne Rooney - 208 goals
  4. Andy Cole - 187 goals
  5. Sergio Aguero - 184 goals
  6. Frank Lampard - 177 goals
  7. Thierry Henry - 175 goals
  8. Robbie Fowler - 163 goals
  9. Jermain Defoe - 162 goals
  10. Michael Owen - 150 goals
  11. Mohamad Salah - 150 goals

As you can see from the list, Salah is currently tied with Michael Owen on 150 PL goals, so will certainly go past this figure this season (barring a massive injury).  He would also be confident of catching and passing Jermain Defoe and Robbie Fowler by the end of the season, with everyone upto 4th on the list (Andy Cole on 187 goals) in his sights for next season. Whether he could catch and overtake Alan Shearer is open for debate, but if Salah could score 28 goals a season for the next 3 seasons, on top of whatever goals he scores this season, then he could conceivably become the highest goalscorer in the histor of the Premier League.  That opportunity in itself should be enough to see Salah snub a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer.
