Early Liverpool Team News

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that he has no new injuries in the squad, meaning only long term absentees, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Connor Bradey are unavailable.  Klopp can also welcome back Curtis Jones into the matchday squad, as he has now served his 3 game ban (for his red card against Tottenham Hotspur last month).

Elsewhere, Klopp confirmed that Luis Diaz is back training with the Liverpool squad, but it will be up to the player to decide if he is able to play.  Diaz had travelled to Columbia following the kidnapping of his mother and father last week.  His mother was quickly released, but his father is still being held by Columbian rebels.

What Klopp said

On Luis Diaz, "You see now we can’t force the Luis Diaz situation. When he's with the boys, he's fine but you can tell he hasn't slept a lot. It is not in our hands and we are waiting together for good news."

On Mohamad Salah, "He is in good shape on the pitch and off the pitch in an even better place - really positive. He enjoys the company with the boys and sees there is potential and wants to help maximise it."

On Darwin Nunez, "He is in a better place now and doing incredibly well but it is only the start. It is a good moment and long may it continue. I’m afraid of the heights he can reach because there is so much there it is crazy."
