Liverpool too good for Forest

Despite the ongoing situation with Luis Diaz's family, Liverpool put Nottingham Forest to the sword, before dedicating their win to Diaz.

Liverpool were in top form on Sunday afternoon, as they easily dispatched Nottingham Forest at Anfield, with goals from Jota, Nunez and Salah.

It may not have been the ideal preparation for a match, but Liverpool put their worries about Luis Diaz to one side, to dominate a 0ne-sided contest at Anfield against Nottingham Forest.

This victory makes it eight wins out of eight at Anfield this season, with few teams relishing the prospect of visiting Merseyside.  Indeed, such was the control that Liverpool had over the game, that it was something of a surprise that it took until the 31st minute for Liverpool to open the scoring.  Diogo Jota was the right man in the right place once again, tapping into an empty net after Forest keeper Matt Turner could only parry a Nunez shot into Jota's path.

Immeadiately agfter scoring, Jota ran to the bench and pulled out a Luis Diaz shirt, holding it aloft to show his, and his teammates, support for Diaz and his family.

Liverpool were now rampant, and it did not take long for the second goal to appear, scored by Nunez after good link up play between Salah and Szoboslai.  It remained 2-0 at half time, but Forest were definately the architects of their own downfall with the third goal, as keeper Turner and defender Toffolo got in each others way, allowing the ball to bounce over them and into the path of Salah, who duly slotted into an empty net from 25 yards out.

The result means Liverpool remain in 4th spot in the table, 3 points behind leaders Tottenham, and 1 point behind Arsenal and Manchester City.
