Liverpool face Brighton & Hove Albion at 2pm on Sunday, with 5 first team players unavailable due to injuries, with 2 more suspended for the difficult away trip.

Jurgen Klopp has provided updates on 5 first team players who are currently sidelined with injury.  Read below to see who's injured - and when they might return.

Cody Gakpo - Injured during the Tottenham game, however early fears over a serious injury have been allayed.  In fact, Klopp is confident the Netherlands international will be back after the upcoming international break.  Klopp's comments, "He is already out of the brace, walks normal around, so from all the very, very bad opportunities and possibilities injury-wise, I think he nearly got the best but is still injured."

Thiago - Ongoing groin/hip/pelvic injury.  Thiago has endured a terrible run of injuries over recent months, and despite undergoing surgery at the end of last season, he is yet to return to full training.  Indeed, Klopp confirmed that he has suffered a new setback, and is likely to miss another month at least.  Klopp's comments, "He had now two setbacks in the rehab, not massive but enough to take him off the pitch again. Obviously, not the same injury, not at all, but a bit similar."

Stefan Bajcetic - Small calf strain suffered during the Carabao Cup match against Leicester City.  Nothing serious, but after a long lay off at the end of last season, small niggles are to be expected as Bajcetic returns to full fitness.  Luckily Klopp has lots of midfield options available, so there is no need to rush the youngster back.  Klopp's comments, "Stefan had a little, little, little, little, tiny calf issue. That's how it is when you are six months out. We have to take him out a little bit."

Connor Bradley - Suffered a stress fracture in his back during pre-season.  Although the club initially said it was a minor issue - they have now confirmed that Bradley is unlikely to return to full training before November.

Caoimhin Kelleher - Injured in training before the Union SG game, with 12 stitches required.  Likely to be back after the international break.  Klopp's comments, "Caoimhin has got 12 stitches in a knee joint. Sometimes with stitches, you can get on with it, but you can't if it's on the joint. It just reopens all the time. It's just unfortunate for him."
