Bought as a box-to-box midfielder, Gravenberch has shown that he can assist, and score goals, and is fast becoming a fan favourite with his all-action performances.

Many eyebrows where raised when Ryan Gravenberch signed for Liverpool, on the final day of the summer transfer window.  Not because of his quality or lack of potential, but because Bayern Munich were prepared to part with a young player with so much talent.

Indeed, in the aftermath of the deal, many ex-Bayern players voiced their disappointment at the move, blaming Bayern's Manager, Thomas Tuchel, and not the player, for his failure to adapt to life in Munich.  Fast forward 5 weeks, and those voices will be even more disappointed, after Gravenberch gave another all-action display for Liverpool, scoring his first goal and being voted player of the match.

As with many new signings, Klopp has been careful to introduce Gravenberch slowly, with substitute appearances in the Premier League, and starts in Europe and the Carabao Cup.  But with a goal and two assists in his 3 full starts, as well as showing he can pass, tackle and has great energy, and a regular starting spot is surely just around the corner.

Getting off the mark is an important milestone for any player, particularly one who plays in the attacking third of the pitch, and Gravenberch was clearly delighted with his goal, even if it proves to be the easiest one he ever scores.

After the match Gravenberch was interviewed by TNT Sports, where he said :

"It's great, It feels super good.  It was the best goal of my career so far.  It doesn't matter [how it comes].  A goal is a goal."
