Liverpool progressed to the 'Round of 16' with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Leicester at Anfield.  Who will the Reds face in the next round?

Carabao Cup Round of 16 Draw in Full
Games to be played 31st October (Subject to scheduling)

  • Manchester United vs Newcastle United
  • Bournemouth vs Liverpool
  • West Ham United vs Arsenal
  • Exeter City vs Middlesbrough
  • Chelsea vs Blackburn Rovers
  • Everton vs Burnley
  • Mansfield Town vs Port Vale
  • Ipswich Town vs Fulham

As you can see, Liverpool's reward for beating Leicester is an away trip to the Vitality Stadium, to face fellow Premier League side Bournemouth.

Reds fans, are you please with the draw?  Bournemouth away should not be understimated, but we have avoided the big sides (Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle), and with our current squad depth, we should be confident of fielding a side capable of beating Bournemouth.

Indeed, the way the draw has worked, several big teams will be going out (Man U / Newcastle / West Ham / Arsenal), and with Manchester City already eliminated, Jurgen Klopp and his team should be feeling even more confident of going deep into the competition, which will be great for fans (who love a cup run) and for the younger players in the squad who will get more game time.
