Juventus make Firmino bid

Juventus make Firmino bid worth £19million, but Liverpool are likely to reject opening offer.

Sources in both Italy and the UK are reporting that Italian giants Juventus have made an opening offer of £19million for Liverpool forward Bobby Firmino.  The Old Lady have identified Firmino as the experienced striker that want to complete their new look attack for the new season.  Juventus have been in discussions with Atletico Madrid, to make Alvaro Morata's loan move permanent, but a deal looks unlikely, and Juventus have now moved their attention to Brazilian Firmino.

Whilst the opening offer of £19milllion may seem small for someone of Firmino's skill and experience, Juventus are aware that the striker only has 1 year left on his Liverpool deal, and are therefore hoping Liverpool will sell for a smaller price, rather than risk losing Firmino for nothing next summer.

Of course, Liverpool have already sold Sadio Mane earlier in the summer, rather than lose him for nothing next year, so a repeat of those tactics cannot be ruled out, however, with Klopp being such a big admirer of Firmino and what he brings to the team, it would seem unlikely that Liverpool would allow Firmino to leave so close to the start of the new season.

Far more likely, in our opinion, is that Firmino signs a new contract - on reduced wages - at some point through the season.  The player himself has already stated that he sees his future at Anfield, and it therefore seems unlikely that Liverpool will sanction a move.

Check back in the coming days to keep on top of this developing story.
