Mane agrees 3 year Bayern deal

Journalists and transfer insiders are this evening reporting that Sadio Mane has agreed a three year deal with Bayern Munich.  This follows on from earlier reports in Germany that the Senegalese striker has struck a deal worth £328,000 per week, some 40% more than his current wage at Liverpool, and much more than Liverpool would be willing to offer as part of any new deal, especially as the player enters the latter stages of his career.

It remains to be seen whether these reports are accurate, and even if they are, there is still the small matter of Liverpool and Bayern negotiating a suitable price for the sale to go through.  Newspaper reports in Germany are suggesting that Bayern think an offer in the region of £30million will be enough to tempt Liverpool into selling.  Personally I think £30million is nowhere near enough for a player of Mane’s quality.  Admittedly, only having one year left on his contract gives Mane a strong bargaining position, but Liverpool should be looking for at least £40million before they agree to the sale.

More details should emerge in the next few days, but it wouldn’t surprise us if the first we learn about the deal is because Liverpool announce the capture of Mane’s replacement, before they green light his departure.
