Final Day Drama

Final day drama set to unfold as Liverpool and Man City aim to be Champions

Liverpool and Manchester City will take to the field one last time this season, as both teams aim to be crowned Champions later today.  Liverpool's victory over Southampton on Tuesday night ensured that the title will be decided on the final day of the season once again.  Liverpool and Man City have once again been a class apart from the rest of the table, with City looking to win a 4th Title in 5 years, whilst Liverpool are aiming for an unprecedented quadruple.

With that in mind, LFC - Back On Our Perch takes a look at how the title can be decided, and what Liverpool need to do to end up Champions!

Scenario 1 - Man City Win - Man City Champions

As has been the case for most of the second half of the season, Man City's fate is in their own hands.  A City victory over Aston Villa on Sunday will see City crowned Champions regardless of what Liverpool do.

Scenario 2 - Man City Draw - Liverpool Draw - Man City Champions

If both teams draw then City will be Champion by a single point.

Scenario 3 - Man City Draw - Liverpool Win - Liverpool Champions

If City draw and Liverpool beat Wolves then Liverpool will win the title by a single point, gaining revenge for the 2018-19 season where City won by 1 point.

Scenario 4 - Man City Lose - Liverpool Draw - Man City Probably Champions on goal difference

If Man City lose to Villa and Liverpool only manage to draw with Wolves then the title will be decided on goal difference.  City's recent goalscoring exploits mean they have a superior goal difference of +7 so Liverpool will need to score a hatful to avoid losing the title on goal difference.

Scenario 5 - Man City Lose - Liverpool Win - Liverpool Champions

If City lose and Liverpool win against Wolves then Liverpool will be Champions by 2 points.
