2023 : Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita confirmed he would be joining German side Werder Bremen on a free transfer once his Liverpool contract expired on 1st July 2023.  The Guinea midfielder had struggled with injuries for much of the 2022/23 season and it was little surprise that the Reds did not offer him a new contract.  Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 for £48million from RB Leipzig, played in 129 games and scored 11 goals.
