2023 : Liverpool confirmed that their pre-season training regime would begin on the 8th July 2023, with 8 members of Jurgen Klopp's first team squad returning to the AXA training ground to begin fitness and conditioning work.  Additional members of the squad who have been on international duty during the summer will return to training on Tuesday 11th July 2023.

2022 : Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez signed a new long-term contract, tying him to the Reds until the summer of 2027.

2021 : Oakley Cannonier pens his first professional Liverpool contract.  The young attacker is highly regarded by the Reds, and scored 4 goals at under 18 level during the 2020/21 season.  The youngster is also famous for another reason, having been the ballboy who collected the ball - and placed in on the corner quadrant in double-quick time - for Trent Alexander-Arnold to cross for Origi to score Liverpool's decisive 4th goal, in the comeback win over Barcelona in the Champions League Semi-Final 2 years earlier.

2020 : Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana would not play for the club again, as he did not want to risk the player becoming injured, or ruin any chance of a transfer in the summer.  Lallana had signed a short-term deal in June, to allow him to continue playing with the Reds as the Covid-19 delayed season edged towards its conclusion in July.  Once that short term deal ended however, Lallana was released from Liverpool, and would go on to sign for Brighton and Hove Albion later in 2020.

2019 : Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez began a new chapter in his managerial career, with his new side Dalian Yifang claiming a 3-1 victory over Henan Jianye in the Chinese Super League.

2018 : There was joy for Liverpool's Croatian defender Dejan Lovren, as Croatia beat Russia in a dramatic penalty shootout, to setup a World Cup Semi-Final with England at the 2018 World Cup.
