2019 : Manchester City ended Liverpool's 20-game unbeaten run at the start of the 2019/20 season with a 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.  Sergio Aguero opened the scoring, before Bobby Firmino levelled for the Reds.  Leroy Sane then scored the winner in the 72nd minute.  Both teams had chances to score again in a frantic game, but City ultimately held on in a game that would shape the final outcome of the league table.

2012 : Liverpool suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat away at Manchester City.  A poor Liverpool side that included the likes of Stewart Downing, Jay Spearing and Charlie Adams were no match for big-spending City, with goals from Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and James Milner condemning the Reds to defeat.

2005 : Two second half goals, from Luis Garcia and John Arne Riise, were enough to earn Liverpool victory over a battling Norwich City at Carrow Road.  In fornt of a crowd of 24,503 Liverpool rode their luck, and a late Norwich goal, to secure a much needed victory.

2000 : The new millenium didn't start well for LFC, with a poor 1-0 loss away at Tottenham Hotspur on th 3rd January 2000.  An Alan Armstrong goal mid-way through the first half was enough to secure Tottenham all three points.
