2023 : As well as looking to strengthen the first team squad, Liverpool continued their policy of buying talented youngsters, with deals for 16-year old centre back Amaro Nallo and 16-year old midfielder Trey Nyoni being finalised.  Nallo joined from West Ham, whilst Nyoni joined from Leicester City.

2013 : Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard used a testimonial match against Olympiakos to raise over £500,000 for his charity, Alder Hay Childrens Charity, of which he is a founding member.  Olympiakos was chosen as the opposition is memory of Gerrard's famous strike against the Greek team in the Champions League campaign of 2005.
