2023 : Liverpool's final game of the 2022/23 season ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw with Southampton at St Mary's.  Despite nothing riding on the game, both teams set out to entertain, with Liverpool taking an early 2-0 lead, only for Southampton to hit back with 4 goals to lead 4-2.  Liverpool then rallied and scored 2 goals in the second half to earn a draw.  The match marked the end of several players Liverpool careers, with Bobby Firmino and James Milner both starting (Firmino also scored) in their final games, before leaving in the summer.  Joel Matip and Caoimhin Kelleher also started, with both expected to leave during the Summer transfer window.
