2022 : Liverpool FC Women has confirmed that former Captain, Gemma Bonner, has returned to the club.  The central defender, and lifelong Reds fan, famously won the Women's Super League Title in 2013 and 2014, in a hugely successful 6 year spell with Liverpool FC Women.

The football landscape changes forever as the Premier League is founded.  Created by the top 20 clubs in the English First Division - including Liverpool, the breakaway league takes advantage of enormous television rights deals, to attract the best players and managers to the English game.

1992 :

1991 : Liverpool legend, Steve McMahon, left the club after 6 hugely successful years with the Reds.  The midfielder had been Kenny Dalglish's first signing as Manager, moving from Aston Villa for £350,00o in September 1985.  During 277 games for LFC, McMahon scored 50 goals and won 3 League Titles, the FA Cup and 2 FA Charity Shields.  McMahon left Liverpool for Manchester City, who paid £900,000 for his signature.
