2023 :

2022 : Liverpool Legend John Barnes is appointed as a Club Ambassador, a role that will see him represent the club at matches, events and official meetings both in the UK and abroad.  Barnes made 407 appearances for the Reds from 1987 to 1997, scoring 108 goals, and is widely regarded as one the greatest players to wear the red shirt.  Speaking about the appointment, Barnes said - “It’s a fantastic honour for me to be made an ambassador for this great club and all it stands for.  I loved representing LFC as a player and I’m relishing the prospect of wearing the beloved Liver bird crest on my chest once again – albeit on a suit this time around.”

2021 : The agent of Luis Diaz confirms that Liverpool are interested in the Columbian forward, and says that it is "normal" for big teams to be interested in the forward, given his goalscoring record in Portugal.  Just 2 months later, on 30th January 2022, Diaz would sign for Liverpool for £37.5million, as Liverpool moved quickly to sign the payer before Tottenham.  Diaz would enjoy an electric start to his Anfield career, winning the FA Cup and League Cup inside the first 6 months.

2020 : Liverpool FC Women fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to local rivals Everton in a Continental Cup tie.  The group C clash was held at Walton Hall Park, with Everton taking the lead in the 6th minute, and holding on the victory despite late pressure from the Liverpool ladies.

2019 : Young midfielder Elijah Dixon-Bonner signed a new contract extension with the Reds.  A lifelong Liverpool fan, Dixon-Bonner moved to Anfield from Arsenal in 2015 and featured heavily in the U18 and U23 side, wearing the Captains armband on several occasions.  During the 2018-19 season Dixon-Bonner won the FA Youth Cup with Liverpool, beating rivals Man City in the Final.  Dixon-Bonner would go on to make 2 senior appearances for Liverpool, both late substitutions in cup games, before he was eventually released in June 2022 when his contract expired.
