2023 : Liverpool won another hard fought victory, defeating Wolves 3-1 at Molineux.  After a sluggish start, Liverpool needed a strong second half display to come from 1 nil down, to eventually win 3-1.  Goals from Cody Gakpo, Andy Robertson and an own goal deep into stoppage time, ensured Liverpool took all three points back to Anfield.  It was a special day for Andy Robertson, as he not only scored for the first time in nearly 2 years, he also made his 200th Premier League Appearance for Liverpool, and was Captain for the day.

1940 : WWII rages across Europe and beyond.  All competitive football matches are suspended.

1939 : Liverpool played the first of 12 wartime friendlies, against Chester, at Sealand Road, winning the game 5-0.  Just a week earlier, the British Government had advised the Football Association that clubs could stage friendly games, outside of evacuation areas (all competitive matches had been suspended due to WWII).  Liverpool would go on to participate in 12 such friendlies before the end of the war.
