2023 : Liverpool shocked the footballing world by smashing the club and British Transfer Record, by agreeing an £110million deal for Brighton's Ecudorian midfielder, Moises Caicedo.  Caicedo had seemed destined to join Chelsea, but Liverpool swooped in at the last minute to secure the deal.  Caicedo was the second player to join from Brighton, after Alexis Mac Allister joined the Reds earlier in the tranfer window.
