Liverpool makes the short trip across Stanley Park on Wednesday for the 244th Merseyside Derby, as the Reds look to build on their confidence-boosting victory over Fulham at the weekend.

After a much-needed victory over Fulham at the weekend, Liverpool makes the short trip across Stanley Park to face city rivals Everton on Wednesday evening, in the 244th Merseyside Derby.

The match will be Jurgen Klopp's final Merseyside Derby, with the Reds manager winning 11 of his 18 games against the Blues.

Team News

Liverpool:
Jurgen Klopp's brave team selection paid off at Fulham on Sunday, with the likes of Salah, Mac Alliser, Diaz, Nunez, and Konate all dropped from the starting XI.  Klopp has now new injury worries ahead of Wednesday's game, so he must decide whether to keep faith in the team that played so well at Craven Cottage or re-call some of his star players.

Everton:
Everton Manager Sena Dyche may be missing six first-team players from his squad, with Nathan Patterson, Bamidele Alli, Lewis Dobbin, Seamus Coleman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Noberto Gomes all currently sidelined.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup

Jurgen Klopp will stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation.

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk (C), Quansah, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jota, Gakpo, Salah

I think Klopp will recall some of his star names, particularly Salah and Mac Allister, but Gravenberch, Quansah, Jota, and Gakpo deserve to keep their places for Wednesday's game, which means the likes of Diaz, Nunez and Szoboszlai will once again have to make do on the bench.  Quansah should start alongside Van Dijk in defense, with Alexander-Arnold and Robertson the obvious choices at full-back.  Wataru Endo will give extra protection in front of the back four, with Mac Allister and Gravenberch offering energy and creativity in midfield.  Up front, Salah will return on the right, with Cody Gakpo continuing on the left, with Diogo Jota through the middle.

Everton vs Liverpool Score Prediction

Form counts for little in derby matches, and I think this game will be closer than many of the recent meetings between the two sides, however, I think Liverpool will have enough quality to secure another victory as the Reds look to take their title challenge to the last day of the season.

Liverpool to win 3 - 2
