Even before the season began, Liverpool fans knew this match would be huge in deciding the title race. Having secured an excellent one-all draw at the Etihad earlier in the season, Liverpool know that if they avoid defeat tomorrow then the title is theirs to lose. With so much riding on the game, Klopp will want to put out his strongest possible XI, which is why Konate will be given every possible chance to prove his fitness.
Konate has been excellent this season, and his injury against Sparta Prague on Thursday was a real blow. Thankfully the injury does not seem too serious, with Klopp still hopeful the French centre-back will be available to face City. If he is, then Konate's pace and power will be vital in combating Erling Haaland. If he is not fit, then Klopp will likely go with the experience of Joe Gomez, alongside Van Dijk, as Liverpool looks to stop City from scoring. That's the centre-back pairing I have picked for the LFC - Back On Our Perch predicted lineup, but I will be happily proved wrong if Konate is fit. Robertson and Bradley will occupy the full-back roles, with Klopp looking to play on the front foot to push City back as much as possible.
The rest of the side pretty much picks itself, with Salah, Diaz, and Nunez all starting up front. Kelleher will once again play in goal, with Endo, Mac Allister, and the returning Szoboszlia in midfield.
On the bench, Adrian, Tsimikas, and Gakpo will provide some much-needed experience, with youngsters Clark, Quansah, McConnell, and Koumas completing the lineup.
