The heroes of yesteryear will soon take to the Anfield pitch once more, as the latest Liverpool Legends match heads into town.
The match will be the eighth fundraising event to be held at Anfield, with all proceeds going to help the work of the LFC Foundation, and other local charity partners. The game takes place on 23rd March 2024, with kick-off at 3pm.
Ajax are the visitors this time around, the first time the Dutch giants have taken part in a Legends match.
The last two Legends matches held at Anfield, against Manchester United and Celtic, raised over £1.45million, with all the money raised going to support charity projects in Liverpool and beyond.
Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush will once again take charge of the Liverpool Legends, whilst it was announced yesterday that former England Manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, will join the management team. The day will be especially poignant for Eriksson, who announced in January that he has terminal cancer. Eriksson is a lifelong Liverpool fan and always dreamed of managing the Reds, so the chance to manage Liverpool at Anfield, in front of a full house of 61,000 fans, will fulfill a lifelong dream.
