Conor Bradley's father passes away aged 58

Our thoughts and prayers are with young Conor Bradley this evening, after news broke of the tragic death of his father - Joe, at the age of 58.

Three days ago young Conor Bradley was on top of the world, after a 'man of the match' performance against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Yet just 72 hours later, his family have been hit by the tragic death of his father Joe, at the age of just 58.  Confirming the news, LiverpoolFC.com released a statement mourns Joe's passing, and asking for the families privacy to be respected.

It is being reported that Joe had been battling with a long term illness, although no details have been provided.  Thankfully, Joe got to witness his son's amazing display on Wednesday, when he scored one and assisted two more, as Liverpool thumped Chelsea 4 - 1.

Bradley had been in line to start against Arsenal tomorrow evening.  There has been no indication yet whether he will stay with the team, or return to the family home in County Tyrone, where his father passed away.

Bill Shankly once said that football is more important than life or death, but at these sad times, football rightfully must take a back seat.

Everyone at LFC - Back On Our Perch offers our heartfelt condolences to Conor, his mum and the rest of the Bradley family.
