Liverpool Football Club have been unsuccessful in their appeal against Curtis Jones' red card at Tottenham last weekend, meaning the midfielder will serve a 3 match ban.

Jurgen Klopp will be without Curtis Jones for the next 3 matches, after the Reds were unsuccesful in their appeal to get Jones' red card against Tottenham overturned.

Jones was harshly sent off after catching Yves Bissouma on the ankle.  The midfielder was initially shown a yellow card, before VAR intervened and the referee upgraded the card to red.  This was just one of a number of questionable decisions referee Simon Hooper and VAR made on Saturday, with pundits and ex-players alike saying there was no intent in Jones' challenge, and it was the fact his foot slipped over the top of the ball that caused the contact.

Jones will now miss Liverpool's trip to Brighton, as well as home games against Everton and Nottingham Forest.  The ban comes at a time when Jones' was just beginning to cement his place in the first team, and Klopp will hope his young star will come back just as strong and confident as ever.

It has also been confirmed that Diogo Jota will miss the Brighton trip, after picking up 2 yellow cards in the same game.
