2023 : During a pre-match press interview, LFC Manager Jurgen Klopp admits that he has only survived the sack because of the trophies won in previous years, and that if he was judged solely on the teams form in 2o22-23, then he would certainly of been sacked.  Elsewhere, Liverpool youngster Conor Bradley put in an excellent performance as Bolton won the Papa John's Trophy, beating Plymouth Argyle 4-0.  Bradley spent the entire 22-23 season on loan at Bolton, where he was one of the teams standout performers for most of the season.
