Every Liverpool player involved in Euro 2024
Euro 2024 is in full swing, with twenty teams battling it out across the next two weeks, to determine the best team in Europe.
Liverpool will be well represented at the tournament, with key players such as Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota all taking part.
The new Premier League season may be several months away, but there is plenty of football to enjoy, as Euro 2024 nears the end of its first week.
With two games taking place every day, LFC - Back On Our Perch looks at which players are presenting their countries in Germany.
Andy Robertson – Scotland
Group A
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson will Captain Scotland at the tournament, as the Tartan Army looks for a first success at a major international tournament.
Dominik Szoboszlai – Hungary
Group A
Another Liverpool player captaining their country at the tournament will be Dominik Szoboszlai, with the dynamic midfielder key to Hungary’s hopes of progressing from Group A.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – England
Group C
Much has been made of Alexander-Arnold’s role within Gareth Southgate’s England team, with Southgate using Arnold in a more advanced midfield role in the last couple of warm-up matches. Whether the England Boss sticks to this tactic in the main tournament remains to be seen, but Trent is too good a player not to feature in a major tournament.
Joe Gomez – England
Group C
Liverpool’s Mr Versatile, Gomez deserves his place in Southgate’s England Squad, though it remains to be seen if he features at the tournament.
Virgil van Dijk – Netherlands
Group D
Liverpool's Captain Fantastic is another player who will be leading his country in Germany. With the Dutch expected to go deep into the competition, Van Dijk may not get much of a rest before Arne Slot is recalling his squad for the start of pre-season.
Cody Gakpo – Netherlands
Group D
Even when his form for Liverpool dipped towards the end of the season, Gakpo was still producing for his country, which is why he is one of Ronald Koeman's favorite players.
Ryan Gravenberch – Netherlands
Group D
Another player who often plays more for his country than for Liverpool, Gravenberch will be looking to use this tournament to galvanise his career, which would be good news for Liverpool.
Ibrahima Konate – France
Group D
Another Liverpool player whose form suffered at the end of the season, Konate will be hoping for a good tournament with France, to build his confidence ahead of next season.
