Andy Robertson excited for new era under Arne Slot

Liverpool's tough-tackling Scottish international, Andy Robertson, has been speaking about the "exciting new challenges" that await him and the other players at Anfield, with Arne Slot replacing Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss.

Robertson is currently preparing for Euro 2024 with his Scotland teammates but took time out to speak with Sky Sports about the exciting challenges that lie ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Andy Robertson is currently with the Scotland camp, preparing for Euro 2024, but the Liverpool left-back has still found time to speak about his "excitement" for the upcoming season, as well as the challenges that await the Liverpool squad, as Arne Slot begins the unenviable task of following Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Robertson spoke of his excitement for next season, saying,

"It's an exciting new challenge."

"Obviously the old era was pretty special and I've got a lot to be thankful for for that manager [Klopp] but I'm excited now by the new manager coming in: new ideas, [a] new voice and I'm really excited for what can come with that."

"I've got pretty big stuff coming up before that [with Scotland], so I've not really given it much thought and then obviously I'll try to switch off physically and mentally like always."

"Then come pre-season it'll be full focus on the new era at Liverpool and trying to get off to the best possible start and helping him in every way possible to try to make that successful for him as well."

"I've got no doubts we can keep that momentum going. From all the reports we've had, the manager's very good and I can't wait to see that up close."

"We have to go again. We showed for large parts of last season we could challenge for the league and that has to be the aim."

"At Liverpool the pressure is to win trophies from the fans, and that has to be the aim no matter what season it is. The manager will want to do that as well, he has won trophies before, and he'll want that feeling again. We've got to be at our best to try to achieve that."

Andy Robertson expects a bright future for Liverpool

Although Robertson's thoughts are clearly on the upcoming European Championships, which starts in Germany next week, he is already getting excited about the 2024/25 season and is hopeful that Liverpool can have another successful year.

Robertson also mentioned the positive things he has heard about Liverpool's new Head Coach, Arne Slot, and how he looks forward to new ideas and opportunities when he returns to Anfield next month.

Liverpool fans will be able to watch Roberton in the Euros from the 17th of June, while Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA begins on the 26th of July.
