Liverpool's pre-season fixtures
The 2023/24 season may have only just ended, but Liverpool are already looking ahead to the new season, beginning with an exciting pre-season tour of the United States, where the Reds will play three games against Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
The tour will give many of the Red's international fans a chance to see their heroes in real life, as well as provide marketing and commercial opportunities for the club.
Liverpool's players are enjoying a well-deserved rest after an incredible season that saw the Reds lift the Carabao Cup for the second time in three years and push Man City and Arsenal in the title race. But while the players and coaches go on holiday, the club's Commercial and Marketing departments are working as hard as ever, finalising the details of the club's latest pre-season tour, with Liverpool visiting the United States for three matches in July and August.
Pre-season tours have come a long way in the last decade, with teams traveling thousands of miles to play games in all four corners of the globe, giving international fans unprecedented access to their favourite teams and players. For clubs such as Liverpool, it's also a way of gaining new fans, increasing market exposure and ultimately earning more money.
This season, Liverpool will again tour the USA, home of FSG and Liverpool owner John Henry, with the Reds last touring America in 2019. During their visit, the Reds will play games against Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
Speaking about the upcoming games, Liverpool's Commercial Director, Ben Latty confirmed that he was delighted to be able to give American fans the chance to watch Liverpool play,
"Adding Pittsburgh to our pre-season tour schedule is a great way to start our eagerly anticipated return to the USA."
"We were delighted to quickly sell out our fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester United on this tour and are equally excited to be able to offer our supporters in the States another opportunity to see Liverpool FC play."
"Real Betis will come with a strong squad and it's going to be a great occasion in another iconic setting, in another fantastic US city."
Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA
The Reds have confirmed three dates so far on their pre-season tour of the USA, with games in Pittsburgh, Philidelphia, and Columbia (South Carolina).
Liverpool vs Real Betis
26th July 2024
Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh
Liverpool begin their tour with a match against Spanish side Real Betis, whom they last played back in 2005. As this is the first official pre-season game confirmed by the club, it may be Arne Slot's first game in charge of Liverpool, although it is likely that several low-key games will be arranged earlier in July to help with the player's fitness, before they travel to the USA.
Liverpool vs Arsenal
31st July 2024
Lincoln Financial Field, Philidelphia
The second game of the tour sees Liverpool travel to Philidelphia to play rivals Arsenal, who they battled with for most of the 2023/24 season.
Liverpool vs Manchester United
3rd August 2024
Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, South Carolina
Liverpool's final game sees them renew their long-standing rivalry with Manchester United, at the University of South Carolina's 77,000-capacity open-air stadium, in what will be an exciting end to the tour.
