Match Summary
The Jurgen Klopp era has come to an end.
After nearly nine years, 491 games, and over 1000 goals scored, Jurgen Klopp has managed Liverpool for the final time. On an emotionally charged afternoon at Anfield, Liverpool produced a fitting farewell to their legendary coach, beating Wolves in the Merseyside sunshine.
With nothing riding on the game, the Anfield crowd was determined to enjoy their final afternoon with Klopp, singing every player song from the entire Klopp era, as a party atmosphere engulfed the crowd.
And the atmosphere only improved as the afternoon went on, first when Wolves midfielder Nelson Semedo saw red for a bad challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, before Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah scored to give Liverpool total control over the game.
The Reds created plenty of goalscoring chances in the second half, but a combination of good keeping and poor finishing kept the scoreline at 2 - 0, with Anfield celebrating one final Klopp victory at the full-time whistle.
Following the match, Liverpool owner John W Henry and Sir Kenny Dalglish led tributes to Klopp, with numerous presentations and speeches, as Klopp, his staff and the players enjoyed one final afternoon together at Anfield.
