Atalanta vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup

Atalanta vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup

Jurgen Klopp and his players go into Thursday's second leg against Atalanta as clear underdogs, but also knowing they can write one more piece of history if they can overturn their first leg deficit to reach the Semi-Finals.

Liverpool travels to the Stadio de Bergamo tomorrow night, for what could be Jurgen Klopp's last European game in charge of the Reds, as they look to overturn a 3 - 0 deficit from the first-leg against Italian side Atalanta.

Liverpool's form going into the game has been poor, with back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.  However, the Reds squad is full of world-class players, meaning Liverpool still has a chance of progressing tomorrow night, and in doing so, adding another chapter to the illustrious history of Liverpool FC.

To make that happen, Klopp needs to make some tough decisions, with players such as Nunez, Diaz, Konate, and Szoboszlai all capable of match-winning performances, but also suffering their worst form of the season.  For that reason, I think Klopp may pull a few surprises with his Starting XI, with Nunez, Szoboszlai, and Konate all dropped, and Gomez, Jones, and Elliott starting.

That means Kelleher continues in goal (he is the designated cup keeper after all), with the back four consisting of Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, and Robertson.  In midfield, Endo will act as the no.6, with Mac Allister and Jones tasked with controlling the midfield and providing the passes for Diaz, Salah, and Elliott in attack, with Salah playing through the middle.

It's tempting to start with Jota upfront, but Klopp will need to manage his workload over the next few games, and having Jota, Nunez, and Gakpo available from the bench in the second half, will give the Reds plenty of attacking options.

Predicted Starting XI: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk (C), Gomez, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Jones, Diaz, Salah, Elliott

Predicted Subs: Alisson, Konate, Quansah, Tsimikas, Gakpo, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Jota, Clark, Danns

Injuries and Suspensions

There are currently three players unavailable to Klopp due to injury and suspension, including:

Thiago (back), Matip (ACL), and Doak (hamstring)
