Jurgen Klopp's FA Cup Record
Sunday's loss in the FA Cup means Jurgen Klopp has managed Liverpool in the competition for the last time. LFC - Back On Our Perch looks back at Klopp's FA Cup Record.
Sunday's defeat at Old Trafford hurt for many reasons, not least because it was the last time Jurgen Klopp would lead Liverpool in the FA Cup. With Klopp's time as manager drawing to a close, there will be many 'last times' over the coming weeks, but Klopp's final participation in the FA Cup is certainly memorable.
With that in mind, LFC - Back On Our Perch looks back over the nine FA Cup campaigns that Jurgen Klopp has been involved in.
Jurgen Klopp's FA Cup Record
29 games
16 wins
5 draws
9 losses
62 goals scored
33 goals against
1 FA Cup triumph in 2022
Jurgen Klopp has taken charge of 29 games in the FA Cup, winning 16, meaning he has a win ratio of 55%. This is slightly lower than his overall win ratio of 61%.
During the early part of his reign, Klopp was often criticised by the British media for not taking the Cup seriously, with Liverpool exiting the competition in the 3rd or 4th round in 2016, 2017, and 2019. In fact, Klopp has only progressed past the Quarter-Final stage on one occassion, in 2021-22, when Liverpool won the FA Cup. This does not mean that Klopp did not respect the Cup, it was just a reflection of the club's priorities - which were to qualify for the Champions League, and win the League Title.
