Which Liverpool players are on international duty?
Liverpool fans have to wait until the 31st of March for our next match, with international games taking centre stage over the coming weeks. But which Liverpool players have joined up with their National squads?
Just 24 hours after our disappointing defeat at Old Trafford, many of Liverpool's first-team players are heading out on international duty.
With the Reds not playing another game until the 31st of March (when Brighton visit Anfield), LFC - Back On Our Perch looks at which Liverpool players are representing their countries over the next two weeks.
Goalkeepers
Coaimhin Kelleher (Republic of Ireland) - Kelleher has been in excellent form for Liverpool in recent weeks, filling in for the injured Alisson, and producing numerous world-class saves in big matches. It is little surprise therefore that he has been called up to the Ireland squad for the upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland.
Defenders
Joe Gomez (England) - Gomez is another player who has excelled in recent weeks, playing in various positions across the back four and midfield. His efforts have not gone unnoticed, with Gareth Southgate finally recalling Gomez to the England squad for the games against Brazil and Belgium.
Jarell Quansah (England Under-21s) - Quansah has been rewarded for his excellent progress with another call-up to the England Under-21s squad.
Ibrahima Konate (France) - French centre-back Konate has missed the last couple of games through injury, but that has not stopped him from being called up to the France squad for the games against Germany and Chile. Everyone at Anfield has their fingers crossed that he does not return with a further injury.
Virgil Van Dijk (Netherlands) - Our Captain Fantastic is again set to Captain Holland, with games against Germany and Scotland in the coming weeks.
Kostas Tsimikas (Greece) - He may not have played much for Liverpool recently, but Tsimikas will be a crucial player for Greece when they take on Kazakhstan in a crucial Euro 2024 Playoff.
Conor Bradley (Northern Ireland) - Bradley will be looking to add to his thirteen international caps when Northern Ireland plays Romania and Scotland.
Midfielders
Wataru Endo (Japan) - Endo will be doing plenty of travelling over the next two weeks, as our No.6 will be Captaining Japan in their crucial World Cup Qualifiers against North Korea.
Dominik Szoboszlai (Hungary) - Another Liverpool player who Captains his country, Szoboszlai will be playing against Turkey and Montenegro for Hungary.
Harvey Elliott (England Under-21s) - Elliott will once again be joining the England Under-21s, though it is surely only a matter of time before Gareth Southgate calls him up to the full England squad.
Bobby Clark (England Under-20s) - Clark has been rewarded for his recent progress with a call-up to the England Under-20 team, where he will play against Poland and the Czech Republic.
Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina) - Our midfield dynamo will represent Argentina against El Salvador and Costa Rico. Both games are being played in the USA, so at least he will be doing fewer miles than normal.
Attackers
Luis Diaz (Columbia) - Diaz has been selected to play for Columbia in the upcoming internationals, but reports after the United game suggest he may be carrying an injury, so it is doubtful he will travel. We will bring you more details as and when they are available.
Darwin Nunez (Uruguay) - Nunez was due to join up with his country to face Ivory Coast, but he has in the last few hours been dropped from the squad due to injury.
Cody Gakpo (Netherlands) - Gakpo will be joining Van Dijk in representing the Netherlands. The young attacker has been struggling recently, so maybe a change of scenery can help him regain his form for the final part of the season.
Jayden Danns (England Under-18s) - Danns has been rewarded for his recent exploits in the Liverpool first-team with a call-up to the England Under-18 squad, to play in the Pinatar Super Cup, hosted in Spain. Danns will be joined by his Liverpool teammates Amara Nallo and Trey Nyoni.
Lewis Koumas (Wales Under-21s) - Koumas has received his first call-up to the Wales Under-21 squad, after scoring his first Liverpool goal against Southampton recently.
