Jurgen Klopp has named his Starting XI for this afternoon's huge game against Man City, and there are several big surprises in the lineup.
Firstly, Mo Salah only starts on the bench. Whether this is for tactical reasons or due to the player's fitness, only time will tell, but Harvey Elliott will once again play upfront alongside Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. Ibrahima Konate misses out altogether through injury, whilst both Robertson and Tsimikas are named on the bench, meaning Gomez will play at left-back, with Jarell Quansah partnering Virgil Van Dijk in central defence.
Endo, Mac Allister, and the returning Szoboszlai make up the midfield three.
Should he need to, Klopp will have plenty of experience and firepower on the bench, with Salah, Robertson, and Gakpo all ready to come on.
Confirmed lineup and subs :
Liverpool XI: Kelleher, Bradley, Gomez, Van Dijk (C), Quansah, Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Elliott, Nunez
Subs: Adrian, Salah, Gakpo, Tsimikas, Robertson, Clark, McConnell, Nallo, Koumas
Man City Starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Aké, Akanji, De Bruyne, Stones, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Álvarez, Foden, Haaland
