  • Liverpool scored their 1000th goal under Jurgen Klopp during the game against Sparta Prague last week
  • Darwin Nunez hit the 1000th goal
  • The Reds have now scored 1003 goals in all competitions under Klopp

Jurgen Klopp may be coming to the end of his reign as Liverpool Manager, but he continues to set records with each passing week, with the latest milestone seeing the Reds score their 1000th goal under the irreplaceable German.

Since arriving in 2015, Klopp has taken charge of 476 Liverpool games, meaning he has averaged 2.1 goals per game, every game, for the last 9 seasons.

Klopp has reached the milestone quicker than any other Liverpool Manager.  Bill Shankly took 561 games during the '60s and '70s, whilst Tom Watson needed 587 games during his 19-year reign at the start of the 20th century.

During his time at Liverpool, 61 different players have scored the for Reds.  Emre Can scored the first goal of the Klopp era, against Rubin Kazan, on the 5th of November 2015, whilst Darwin Nunez scored the 1000th against Sparta Prague on the 7th of March 2024.  Jayden Danns is the most recent player to score under Klopp, bagging two goals against Southampton on the 28th of February 2024.

Over the last nine years, Liverpool have scored 100 or more goals in a season six times, in 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24.  The season with the most goals was 2021/22 when the Reds scored an incredible 147 goals.

This season, Liverpool have already scored 110 goals.  With a possible 20 games still to go this season, there is every chance that the Reds will break the 21/22 record, and score 150+ goals in a season for the first time in their history.
