Team News
Liverpool:
Jurgen Klopp was able to welcome back three key players in midweek, with Mo Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Darwin Nunez all returning to action against Sparta Prague. All three came through the game unscathed and will play this weekend. Joe Gomez is also fit, despite going off in the second half on Thursday, but Ibrahima Konate faces a late fitness test. Liverpool are still without many first-team players, including Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Thiago, Jota, Jones, Matip, and Gravenberch.
Expect to see plenty of Academy players on the bench, including Koumas, Clark, McConnell, and Quansah.
Manchester City:
City have far fewer injury concerns than Liverpool, but Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, and Matheus Nunes have all picked up injuries in the last week and are doubtful for the match.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup
Jurgen Klopp will stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation.
Kelleher, Bradley, Van Dijk (C), Gomez, Robertson, Mac Allister, Endo, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Nunez, Salah
Jurgen Klopp will pick his strongest possible Starting XI for this crucial clash, which means Salah, Nunez, and Diaz will all start up-front. Mac Allister and Szoboszlai will look to control the midfield, with Endo protecting the back four of Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, and Bradley. Caoimhin Kelleher will once again play in goal.
LFC - Back On Our Perch Score Prediction
Games between Liverpool and City tend to be high-scoring., however, with the amount riding on this game, both teams could cancel each other out. I don't think that will happen, however, and I'm predicting a 3-2 win for Liverpool, with the 'Anfield' factor helping the Reds get the victory they need to maintain their push for Premier League glory.
Liverpool to win 3 - 2
