Big games for teams at the top and bottom of the table

There are just twelve games left in this season's Premier League, and we are set for one of the best title races for many years, with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City separated by just two points.  Liverpool currently sit top of the table, but will that still be the case by the end of the weekend?

Liverpool are the first of the title challengers to play this weekend, taking on Nottingham Forest at 3pm on Saturday.  The Reds are riding the crest of a wave at the moment, after winning the Carabao Cup and beating Southampton in the FA Cup last night, but still face an injury crisis that could derail their title challenge.  Klopp will once again need to use the kids to bolster his match-day squad, with the likes of Quansah, Clark, Danns, and Bradley all likely to see action again this weekend.

Manchester City are up next, as they face city rivals Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium.  For a couple of hours Liverpool fans will be supporting United, and hoping they can do us a favour, but judging by their recent performances, it seems unlikely.

Arsenal are the last of the title challengers to play this weekend when they take on strugglers Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.  United are in desperate need of points but defends like a pub team, so it seems unlikely that they will be able to find a way to stop Arsenal from scoring.

Elsewhere in the league, Brentford take on Chelsea, with both teams needing a win to boost morale, whilst Tottenham and Villa will be looking for another three points to solidify their top-four hopes.

LFC - Back On Our Perch will bring you all the weekend results on Monday, as well as an analysis of how the Title race is developing.
