Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff took the Liverpool first-team through their paces at the AXA Training Complex earlier today, and photos posted on the official LiverpoolFC.com website show both Alisson and Joe Gomez back in training.
The pair missed the Reds most recent match, against Burnley on Saturday, after contracting a virus. Speaking before the game, Klopp had confirmed that the club had an issue with a flu-like virus, which had affected various members of the playing and coaching staff.
Whilst nothing serious, it is good to see both players now back on the training pitch, preparing for Liverpool's upcoming game against Brentford on Saturday 17th February.
Liverpool will be looking to secure another three points (against Brentford) and regain their five-point lead over Manchester City, who play Chelsea on Monday night. Although City will have two games in hand once Liverpool have played Brentford, it will be important to put as much pressure as possible on the Blues, in the hope that they drop points against Chelsea.
Liverpool's match kicks off at 12.30pm, and will be shown live on TNT Sports (formerly BT Sports).
Other players making progress...
As well as Alisson and Gomez's return, there were plenty of photos of Mo Salah going through his paces in the gym, and out on the training pitches. The Egyptian's big smile was on full display, and he looked happy and relaxed as he was put through his paces.
Young Spanish midfielder Stefan Bajcetic was also present. Whilst it is not yet known when the youngster will be back in action, the fact that he was seen in full training kit, taking part in the same session as the other first-team players, is a sign that he may finally be coming to the end of his injury nightmare.
Red's boss Jurgen Klopp will no doubt provide an update on all the club's injured players at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, and LFC - Back On Our Perch will bring you all the breaking injury news as soon as we have it.
