Liverpool travel to Fulham for the Carabao Cup Semi Final tonight, knowing that a win or draw will be enough to secure another visit to the Final. Liverpool have been struggling with injuries and missing players recently, but Klopp and his assistant, Pep Ljinders, have given some positive news on that front in the last 24 hours, with a key member of the squad expected back tonight.
Which players are Liverpool missing...
Joel Matip - ACL injury
Kostas Tsimikas - Broken Collarbone
Thiago Alcantara - Thigh/Hip/Pelvis injury
Trent Alexander-Arnold - Knee injury
Dominik Szoboszlai - Thigh injury
Stefan Bajcetic - Growing Pains
Ben Doak - Thigh injury
Mo Salah - Injured on international duty
Watara Endo - On international duty
Andy Robertson to return from injury tonight...
The biggest update supplied by Ljinders concerns Andy Robertson. The Scottish international has been out action since October with a dislocated shoulder, has been training with the team since Monday, and should be included in the match day squad.
It's unlikely that Klopp will throw Robertson straight back into the team, especially as Joe Gomez has been doing so well at left back, but it's great to see Robbo's name on the team sheet again, and will give Klopp more options in defence, as well as the chance to rest players more frequently.
In other injury news, Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold are targeting returns next week. Szoboszlai will hopefully be fit to feature at the weekend against Norwich in the FA Cup, whilst Arnold should be fit for the visit of Chelsea to Anfield on the 31st January.
