Chelsea reach Carabao Cup Final

Chelsea reach Carabao Cup Final

Chelsea overturned a 1 - 0 deficit from the first leg, to thump Middlesbrough 6 - 1 at Stamford Bridge, and reach the Carabao Cup Final in the process.

Chelsea proved too strong for a depleted Middlesbrough side, as they ran out comfortable 6 - 1 winners at Stamford Bridge last night, to secure their place in the Carabao Cup Final.

Despite carrying a 1 - 0 lead into the second leg, Middlesbrough rarely threatened to cause an upset, with Chelsea scoring four first half goals to take control of the tie.

The result means there will be no fairytale ending for Middlesbrough, who must now focus on gaining promotion from the Championship.  It also means that the Carabao Cup Final will once again be an all Premier League affair, with the second Semi Final between Liverpool and Fulham.
